| Early Spring News Release – April 13, 2006 MANAYUNK, PA – A new racing season is upon us, and The Philadelphia Ciclismo has wasted no time in getting started.Mike DeVuono from http://www.online-roulette.ca opened the race season for the team in Largo, FL in the Shamrock N Run 5K where he took 8th overall and 1st Place in the 30-39 age group.Michael Csuy followed at Prospect Park in NYC on March 26, 2005 in a Category 3/4, 33 mile circuit race. Riding the race with a limited gear selection due to a mechanical, he still managed to sprint to an 8th place finish.April 1, 2006 brought the Doo-Wop Duathlon in Wildwood, NJ where Mike DeVuono finished a disappointing 8th overall after crashing during the bike leg just as he was moving into the 3rd position. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, Mike still won the 30-39 age group, and was only 2 seconds from posting the fastest bike split. Mullica Township’s Ronde van Mullica has always been somewhat of an “opening day” for the local bike racing scene, and this year was no exception. The team was greeted with steady winds on the 40 mile course, and a stacked field of local talent. The team missed the early move which went up the road, and was forced to chase for the next 20 miles. Without much support from other teams in the field, we were unsuccessful in chasing it down. Michael Csuy, was able to snatch 5th in the field sprint for a 16th place finish. Philadelphia 2-Day Cycling Classic – April 8th and 9th, 2006 Next year will be the 5th Anniversary of the event, and we expect it to be bigger than ever. |
